Following a remarkable month in October, where West Virginia online casinos generated over $6.4 million in revenue, they experienced a decline in November.

Last month, the casinos in the Mountain State generated approximately $5.9 million in revenue.

Despite a slight decline from October, the performance remains strong as online casinos generated approximately $4.5 million in August and $4.7 million in September.

Although this may not be good news for operators in the state, it is not the worst either.

In total, the five mobile apps generated a minimum of $1.3 million in weekly revenue. The peak performance was observed in the initial week, where online casinos recorded earnings of nearly $1.6 million.

For nine straight weeks, they have accumulated a staggering amount exceeding $1.2 million.

Although the revenue did not experience any growth last month, the introduction of Caesars Casino WV contributed just enough to elevate the monthly handle. The casinos received a total of slightly over $198 million, surpassing the previous record by approximately $300,000.

Once again, they managed to exceed the $50 million mark twice in weekly betting, accumulating a substantial sum of over $53 million for the week ending on November 27th.

We should take a closer look at the online casino figures from last month and analyze the performance of each individual app.

WV Online Casino Revenue, November 2021

In general, there was an 8% decline in revenue when comparing it to October’s betting. The sole significant disparity between the two months was a single extraordinary week.

On October 9th, the online casino revenue in WV surged to exceed $2.1 million in just one week. Apart from this exceptional performance, the results remained relatively stable throughout.

Despite a decrease of approximately $400,000 compared to the previous month, The Greenbrier maintained its position as the top earner among the state’s online casinos. The esteemed private resort generated a revenue of slightly over $3.2 million, leading the industry.

In November, The Greenbrier raked in a weekly minimum of $725,000, culminating in an impressive sum of over $900,000 in the last week.

For nine consecutive weeks, both BetMGM WV and FanDuel Casino WV have consistently generated profits, accumulating over $600,000 in earnings.

In the previous month, Hollywood Casino secured the second position with a slight decline in its revenue. After two consecutive months with revenue around $2.1 million, its DraftKings Casino WV fell just shy of reaching $2 million.

The four-week period began on a positive note, generating close to $600,000 on Nov. 6. However, earnings experienced a decline in the following two weeks.

Mountaineer fell short of its October target by approximately $723,000, which was just around $7,000 less than the previous month.

The new Caesars app and BetRivers Casino WV experienced a month of fluctuating results. Throughout the month, they witnessed two weeks of exceptional performance, generating profits exceeding $200,000, with a remarkable peak of over $260,000 on Nov. 20. However, there was a less fruitful week preceding this success, with approximately $83,000 in profits.

WV Online Casino Handle, November 2021

Although the revenue did not match the figure from the previous month, there was a slight increase in the overall handle. The amount exceeded $198 million, showing a 0.2% rise compared to October.

Online casinos have recently achieved a remarkable milestone by consistently surpassing $50 million in weekly bets. Over the past nine weeks, they have accomplished this feat five times. The final week of November stands out as the second-best performance, with an impressive total of $53.6 million wagered throughout the entire seven days.

Additionally, there are encouraging signs for the upcoming month of betting. The handle experienced consistent growth throughout every week of November.

In terms of monthly handle, The Greenbrier secured the leading position once again. Its two online casinos accumulated a total of nearly $105 million, falling just short by approximately $2 million compared to the previous month.

BetMGM and FanDuel fell short of hitting the $30 million mark in handle, but they managed to surpass $26 million for three out of four weeks. Furthermore, for the past 13 consecutive weeks, they have consistently recorded wagers of at least $20 million.

Once again, Hollywood secured the second position, but its DraftKings app surpassed October’s handle by a minuscule margin. The handle for the app stood at nearly $71 million once more, with an additional $27,000 for the previous month.

To conclude the month, DraftKings achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing $21 million in a single week, marking a new record.

Mountaineer’s total handle of $22.3 million placed it in a distant third position. Compared to its productivity in October, this represents an increase of approximately $2.8 million.

Caesars and BetRivers experienced a weekly revenue of over $4.3 million, with their highest recorded performance reaching approximately $7.3 million. This remarkable surge was particularly noteworthy as they had never surpassed $6 million in weekly handle prior to that week.

As Caesars gains more popularity across the state, Mountaineer can expect to receive increased funding and narrow the gap between itself and the other two casinos in the market.
